The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra kicked off its 144th season with a blockbuster program that showcased orchestral magic. Violinist Hilary Hahn joined the orchestra and Music Director Stéphane Denève for Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, a performance called "a perfect blend of flash and finesse." (KDHX)
The program also included two Richard Strauss tone poems, Don Juan and Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks, as well as W.A. Mozart's The Magic Flute Overture and Paul Dukas' The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
